ohhhh, my bad then. So sorry to hear that. Despite facilities like that patients can access things or find ways to commit suicide. I think it’s a shame that they don’t have enough eyes on these people to prevent this. They already know they are there usually depressed and in a vulnerable unstable mindset. Again I apologize.

No. I ran out of space on my last post. The guy I knew, that several facilities wouldn’t take, ended up committing suicide. I should have clarified.

Unfortunately your right. Some states make it easy to commit someone as long as you can convince the facility or state of their inability to exist or function at a high level in society. But yes your right about some people trying and the system failing them. But also Carisa what can get anyone committed........money. Sad but true.

He committed suicide a month or so later in his mother’s dining room.

I have listened to several different podcasts about this story and the parents did try get him help. It is SUPER hard to get someone committed. The only way they will commit is if the person is threatening harm to themselves or others. I knew a guy in his mid 20’s that suddenly started displaying similar symptoms. His parents and sister tried getting him into a facility but they wouldn’t take him because he wasn’t a ”threat” to himself or others. He was diagnosed with schizo effective disorder.

Great point. And yes I agree, she should be held accountable.. I think both parents failed in that matter

I whole heartedly feel the mother should be held accountable. If she would of taken a PARENTAL stance AFTER he chugged Canola Oil the couple would of never died. She should be charged with negligence or something!
